Brighter Day Community Health Services Inc is a 501C3 non-for-profit agency guided by the belief that education, counseling, employment structure, and purpose lead to higher moral, ethical, and societal relationships. We believe that families should understand how powerful, important and valuable they are. Brighter Day CHS will promote and teach our families how to stay focused on what they can do in order to attain success. Most importantly we want our families and children to always believe in themselves. 

Every person should have the opportunity to live a healthy, hopeful, fulfilled life in the community. Brighter Day Community Health Service is a certified mental health and addiction services provider by the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction. All individuals are treated regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, or handicap.

Startling Statistics

  • Every 9 seconds in the U.S., a woman is assaulted or beaten.
  • Around the world, at least one in every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex, or otherwise abused during her lifetime. Most often, the abuser is a member of her own family or other acquaintance.
  • Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually.
  • Nearly 1 in 5 teenage girls who have been in a relationship said a boyfriend threatened violence or self-harm if presented with a breakup.
  • Every day in the U.S., more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.
  • Domestic violence victims lose nearly 8 million days of paid work per year in the U.S. alone-the equivalent to 32,000 full-time jobs.

Goals

Nearly seventy-five percent of the population personally knows someone who has been a victim of domestic violence. It is imperative that families be educated in the following areas:

  • Signs/Patterns of an Alleged Perpetrator or Victim of Domestic Violence
  • Cognitive-behavioral Strategies
  • Parenting Assessment
  • Budgeting and Money Management
  • Peer-to-Peer Coaching
